"Enable comments" should be on by default?

A lot of people have commenting disabled in their blog entries. It's possible that they didn't want anyone to comment, but that is strange for a blogger. The more likely case, IMO, is that they didn't see the "Enable comments" tickbox, or maybe they just forgot to tick it.

Also, having to click that box for every blog entry is tedious. Can we change the default to "yes"?

Most definitely! I don't see the utility of a blog without the posibility to recieve feedback. Or that's a personal log.
