Maemo - Bug 1584 - Sorry, but your software is not free (as in freedom).

I finally filed a bug against the Maemo platform.

At LinuxTag 2007 I had the chance of talking to Quim Gil, Nokia's product manager for the Internet Tablets. At his talk he told us that everytime he asks the software engineers why they do not release some software freely, they reply with 'why should we'.

I hope that the above bug report provides the neccessary rationale. If you have your own rationale feel free to add it. :)
