"Fri som i Frihet"

Välkommen till Free Software Foundation Europes hemsida. FSF Europe grundades den 10e mars 2001 och arbetar med alla Europeiska aspekter av Fri Programvara och GNU-Projektet i synnerhet. Organisationen stödjer aktivt utvecklandet av Fri Programvara och främjandet av GNU-baserade system som GNU/Linux. Genom att fungera som ett kompetenscenter för politiker, jurister och journalister arbetar FSF Europe även för att säkra den juridiska, politiska och sociala framtiden för Fri Programvara.

FSF Europes arbete är möjligt tack vare många individuella bidrag, inte minst till Fellowship of FSFE. Ett sätt att bidraga är att gå med nu och uppmuntra andra att göra samma sak.

Julia Klein elected as Fellowship representative in FSFE GA

FSFE's Fellows have elected their second representative to the organisation's governing body, the General Assembly. Julia Klein will join Torsten Grote in FSFE's strategic decision making body to speak for the Fellows for the next two years.

Document Freedom Day 2010 - Free your documents, save your information!

Will you be able to read your documents 20 years from now? Every day, millions of computer users like you edit text and spreadsheets, take pictures and record audio and video. FSFE to users: Seize your freedom of choice!

FSFE welcomes the arrival of greater competition in the web browser market. From today, Microsoft has to offer Windows users in Europe the possibility to choose among different browsers. This step puts into practice the company's settlement with the European Commission from December 2009. The Free Software Foundation Europe was an active participant in the Commission's investigation.

This year on Valentine's Day, FSFE calls on Free Software users everywhere to show their love for Free Software. Behind every Free Software initiative and organisation there are real, hard-working people.

FSFE Newsletter - January 2010

In January, FSFE was awarded the Theodor Heuss Medal as a "trendsetting organisation". This recognition for the hard work of the past years was a good start into the new year.

Monthly Fellowship meeting in Vienna, Austria

This month, the Vienna Fellowship meeting will be in the Metalab, located in the Rathausstraße 6 in the 1st district of Vienna. We'll be there from 18:00, with agenda related discussions starting at 19:00. As usual, this invitation is for everyone interested in the FSFE or Free Software. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

Freedom Task Force ELN Workshop, Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Freedom Task Force, FSFE's legal and licensing department, will hold the third European Licensing and Legal Workshop on the 8th and 9th of April 2010 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This conference will provide legal experts a forum for discussions on supply chain management, compliance procedures, licence management and other legal issues related to the growth of the European Free Software market. There is limited space available at the event and attendance for non-network members is by invitation only.
