FSFE Paesi Bassi si incontra online

Il 23 dicembre alle 20:00 (CET), la FSFE Paesi Bassi terrà un incontro con il proprio gruppo locale. Come l'ultima volta l'incontro si terrà online, per tenerci in contatto nonostante la mancanza dei periodici incontri in presenza. L'incontro si terrà dalle 20:00 alle 21:00 (CET) tramite il server delle conferenze. È di solito abbastanza 'gezellig' e quasi tutti rimangono fino alle 22:30, ma ci si può disconnettere quando si vuole. L'incontro è aperto a tutto, e utilizzeremo l'inglese se ci sarà qualcuno che non parla olandese. Il 23 novembre la sezione FSFE dei Paesi Bassi farà un altro incontro del gruppo locale. Come l'ultima volta, l'incontro si terrà online: possiamo quindi tenerci in contatto nonostante la mancanza dei periodici meeting in presenza. Il 22 novembre, alle 10:00 (CET), Matthias Kirschner, presidente della FSFE, parlerà alla conferenza KNF di quest'anno sul lavoro della Free Software Foundation Europe. "Denaro pubblico? Codice pubblico", Libertà del Router, Direttiva sugli apparati radio, aiuto più semplice con le licenze o "Libera il tuo Android": queste sono alcune delle attività svolte dalla FSFE dal 2001 per permettere alle persone di utilizzare la tecnologia in modo auto-determinato. Utilizzando esempi concreti dal campo delle relazioni pubbliche, il lavoro sulle politiche e azioni legali sul Software Libero, Kirschner darà un riscontro sul modo di lavorare della FSFE e presenterà possibilità di cooperazione. È richiesta la registrazione (gratuita) per la conferenza KNF.

La FSFE BNL (Belgio/Paesi Bassi/Lussemburgo) si incontrerà e sarà presente con uno stand al meeting dell'olanded Linux User Group (LUG) NLLGG ad Utrecht. Se sei interessanto al Software Libero e alla FSFE, passa di qui e conosci le persone della comunità e il nostro lavoro. Oltre allo stand, ci sarà il meeting BNL dalle 16:00 alle 17:00. Il 21 novembre, alle 12:00 (CET), Alexander Sander, il responsabile delle politiche della FSFE, farà un intervento al FOSSCOMM 2020. In un tempo dove l'umanità ha bisogno di lavorare insieme per trovare una soluzione alla crisi, non possiamo permetterci di reinventare ogni volta la ruota. Problemi mondiali necessitano di soluzioni globali! Il Software Libero permette una cooperazione globale per lo sviluppo del codice. Nel suo discorso, Alexander Sander spiegherà che ruolo ha avuto il Software Libero durante la pandemia e come i governi hanno reagito. Non c'è bisogno di registrazione per partecipare, ma se si vuole rimanere informati è possibile registrarsi qui.

In un tempo dove l'umanità ha bisogno di lavorare insieme per trovare una soluzione per la crisi, non possiamo permetterci di reinventare ogni volta la ruota per il software che ci aiuta a contrastare la diffusione del COVID-19. Problemi mondiali necessitano di soluzioni globali! È il Software Libero che permette una cooperazione globale per lo sviluppo del codice. Durante la crisi abbiamo visto molti programmi di Software Libero e progetti che hanno cercato di combattere la crisi, come app di tracciamento, hackathon o soluzioni per telelavoro - ma cosa succederà dopo la crisi?
Già prima della crisi centinaia di organizzazioni e decine di migliaia di persone hanno richiesto che il software finanziato dai contribuenti e sviluppato per il settore pubblico debba essere reso disponibile pubblicamente con licenze di Software Libero.
Mercoledì 28.10.2020 alle 17:15 il nostro responsabile delle politiche Alexander Sander parlerà dei vantaggi nell'usare il Software Libero nel settore pubblico, di cosa abbiamo imparato dalla crisi del coronavirus e perché è ora importante più che mai utilizzare il Software Libero.

On the 28th October the FSFE Netherlands will have their localgroup meeting. This time it will be held online, so that despite missing our regular physical meeting we keep in touch. The meeting will be from 20:00 until 21:00 CET on the conference server. The meeting will be open for everybody. Digital technologies, and in particular information technologies, have become an integral part of our lives. With the spread of SARS-CoV-2, more people have adopted remote working methods and have become aware of the necessity of knowledge transmission through social technologies. Schools, universities, and all institutions in the education sector are no exception. Teachers, parents, and students are among the first to have experienced the effects of the increasing need to use information tech.
In this talk, Francesco Bonanno and Giuseppe Lipari will discuss the fundamental role of Free Software in today's education system. This talk will take place on the 25th October, at 16:00 (CEST), no registration needed.

On Friday, 9.October, at 21:00 (CEST), our Junior Project manager and Translators coordinator Bonnie Mehring joins the Free Software Foundation's (FSF) 35th Birthday celebrations. Together with other local Free Software Group coordinators, Mehring will discuss how to organize and work with local groups. You are welcome to join in and discuss with people from the Free Software community about how to involve and coordinate local groups in the Free Software movement. No registration needed.

Il Summit "State of the Source" invita le comunità del Software Libero di tutto il mondo ad organizzare e contribuire ad una conversazione globale sullo stato corrente del Software Libero: tematiche non tecniche che accrescono lo sviluppo e la comunità, le licenze che permettono la collaborazione, le situazioni che promuovono il contributo, le questioni a riguardo della cooperazione.
Alexander Sander farà una breve presentazione su "Denaro pubblico? Codice pubblico! – Problemi mondiali necessitano soluzioni globali!" e spiegherà la campagna della FSFE 'Denaro pubblico? Codice pubblico!' per quanto riguarda la crisi del Coronavirus e perché il Software Libero è ora più importante che mai. La breve presentazione inizierà alle 14:00 (CEST).
24 – 28 August 2020
Il 28 agosto il presidente della FSFE, Matthias Kirschner, parteciperà ad una tavola rotonda durante la settimana dimostrativa del Prototype Fund. I 21 progetti del settimo Prototype Fund che ruotano attorno a "Fiducia ingegneristica - Costruire fiducia" hanno speso gli ultimi sei mesi a riflettere, sviluppare, testare, scartare, adattare e alla fine produrre un prototipo di Software Libero. I risultati del loro lavoro verranno presentati durante la settimana dimostrativa, un evento online che si terrà dal 24 al 28 agosto. Durante questa settimana ogni progetto verrà presentato al pubblico. Inoltre, un evento di apertura e uno di chiusura si terranno rispettivamente lunedì 24 e venerdì 28, che possono essere visti in streaming. Venerdì 28 agosto dalle 19:10 alle 19:40 CEST, Matthias Kirschner si unirà al gruppo con Ann Cathrin Riedel e Michael Weber (Ministro dell'istruzione e della ricerca) per discutere se la tecnologia può aiutare a creare fiducia. La discussione sarà in tedesco.

Matthias Kirschner, il presidente della FSFE, parlerà del "Valore fondamentale della libertà software" (in tedesco) al FrOSCon. Quest'anno l'evento si terrà da remoto. Kirschner spiegherà che i valori fondamentali del nostro movimento sono che ognuno, non importa quali basi abbia, può usare il software per qualsiasi scopo senza discriminazione. Che ognuno può permettersi di studiare come il software funziona. Che è sempre permesso di condividere il software con gli altri, sia per aiutare altri esseri umani sia per fare soldi. E che nessun individuo, organizzazione o governo debba essere costretto a cambiare il proprio comportamento per via del software ma, secondo i nostri principi, possa adattare e quindi migliore il software per se stesso e per gli altri. La presentazione e la discussione avranno luogo dalle 10:00 alle 11:00 CEST.

Nel "Digitalcharta Innovationsplattform: D" adottato dal Comitato Federale Esecutivo del CDU, i sistemi distribuiti e le interfacce aperte sono la strada da seguire per il futuro digitale. Il modello utilizzato è Open-X.
Il palco, con il responsabile delle politiche della FSFE Alexander Sander, con un autore della Carta Digitale, e con esponenti dalla Open Community e dala modernizzazione dell'amministrazione, spiegherà e discuterà dell'idea di Open-X e di esempi come Open Data, Open Source, standard e interfacce aperte. L'evento sarà trasmesso in streaming su www.kas.de.

L'Intelligenza Artificiale è sempre più sofisticata, mostrando abilità umane a compiti complessi come la classificazioni di immagini o l'elaborazione di un linguaggio naturale.
Ma, nonostante i recenti progressi, non è ancora una panacea. Questa conferenza presenterà un po' di sfide nella ricerca e sviluppo dell'intelligenza artificiale che ne rallentano i progressi e l'utilizzo. In particolare, saranno introdotti i problemi a riguardo di un uso corretto, i modelli di apprendimento e di come condividerli, così come soluzioni possibile con il Software Libero.

Gabriel Ku Wei Bin, il coordinatore legale della FSFE, terrà una presentazione alla conferenza OW2online'20, alle 12:20 CEST, il 18 giugno, sul lavoro che stiamo facendo con l'iniziativa Nuova Generazione Internet (NGI, Next Generation Internet) della Commissione Europea. OW2online'20 è l'edizione 2020 della giornata OW2Community, tenuta da remoto per via delle restrizioni COVID-19. Questa conferenza raccoglie esperti di tutto il mondo nell'ambito del software open source e il suo ruolo nei grandi sistemi informativi moderni.

Inizialmente pensato come una lezione, la presentazione è stata spostata a un webinar aperto a chiunque voglia parteciparvi. Il webinar si terrà il 16 giugno alle 17:00 (CEST). On 4 May 2020, the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) invites to the event "Digital Sovereignty and Modernisation of Public Administration". During the event we want to present successful Free Software projects in public administration from a provider perspective (morning) as well as discuss the administrations' view on Free Software projects (afternoon). The breaks will be used to give interested people the opportunity to talk to each other in the context of an exhibition. Participation in the event is free, but registration is welcome.

IT-tinkering is only possible with Free Software, that's why the FSFE local group Berlin is going to be present with an information and merchandise booth at the Maker Fair in Berlin. The Maker Fair is a get-together of makers and visitors interested in various DIY-ideas. At the FSFE’s booth, visitors can inform themselves about Raspberry Pi as a computer for standard applications especially suitable for education, about how to ‘free’ Android-Smartphones and about email-encryption with Free Software.

29 March – 01 April 2020
Gabriel Ku Wei Bin, the FSFE's Legal Coordinator, will give a talk at FOSS North. Gabriel will speak about REUSE, as well as the impact that REUSE has had on software projects participating in the Next Generation Internet Zero initiative, to which the FSFE contributes its free software licensing expertise. FOSS North is a conference that serves as a meeting place for the Nordic FOSS communities. The event will take place between 29th of March and 1st of April in Chalmers Conference Centre, in Gothenburg. Tickets are available on the FOSS North website until the day before the event starts.

Lucas Lasota, FSFE's Deputy Legal Coordinator, will present a talk about the future of Router Freedom in Europe at the Weizenbaum
Institut, the "German Internet Institute". The implementation of Router Freedom rules in Europe has followed diverse paths among countries and has been confronted by several challenges, ranging from business interests, legal hurdles and political pressure. The talk aims to raise awareness for Router Freedom and to understand the impact of future developments over civil society. It will take place on 24 March at 14:30 in room A104/105 of the Weizenbaum-Institut, Hardenbergstraße 32, 10623 Berlin. The entrance is free.

Libre Planet is a conference organized annually by the Free Software Foundation in or around Boston, Massachusetts. This year Matthias Kirschner, President of the FSFE, will join the conference and talk about "Public Money? Public Code! A campaign framework to promote software freedom". In his talk he will explain how the campaign framework can be used to push for the adoption of free software-friendly policies in your area.

Matthias Kirschner, President of the FSFE, gives a keynote about "The core values of software freedom" at FOSS Backstage, a conference about governance, collaboration, legal and economic aspects of Free Software. Kirschner will argue that the core values of our movement are that everybody, no matter what background, can use the software for every purpose without discrimination.

The "Winterkongress der Digitalen Gesellschaft" is an annual meeting about the digital society in Switzerland. On Saturday, 22 February, hackers, programmers, activists and other interested parties will meet for the third time in Zurich to exchange views on information technology and its effects on our society.
The FSFE will be present with two talks: our president Matthias Kirschner will talk about the "Ethics of Free Software", while Max Mehl, Programme Manager, will give a presentation about why there is "No IT security without Free Software". Additionally, many members of the FSFE's Switzerland team will attend. The event will take place in the "Rote Fabrik", admission fee is 30 CHF.

The digital services offered and used by our public administrations are the critical infrastructure of democratic states in the 21st century. To establish trustworthy systems, public authorities must ensure that they have full control over the software and computer systems at the core of our government digital infrastructure. But at the moment this is rarely the case due to restrictive software licenses.
In his presentation our Policy Manager Alexander Sander explain the status quo and how it can be changed. From the EU Commission's Bug Bounty Program to the CDU's party conference resolution on the use of Free Software. He will explain what we can expect in the coming years and what we have to keep in mind when using Free Software.

FOSDEM, Europe's largest Free Software conference, takes place on
February 1 and 2 at Campus Solbosch of Free University Brussels (ULB).
The FSFE will be present with multiple talks: Matthias Kirschner, President of the FSFE, gives a talk about "The core values of software freedom" and a lightning talk about "Civil society needs Free Software hackers". Max Mehl, Programme Manager of the FSFE, talks about REUSE in "Go REUSE to license your code" and the FSFE's Deputy Coordinator France, Vincent Lequertier, talks about "Putting Artificial Intelligence back into people's hands".
As usual, FSFE is also present with a booth and presents latest news from our
work, a wide range of information material, stickers, and postcards, and
of course the latest FSFE fashion. This
time, FSFE's booth is in the second level of building K, upstairs from
where it was in the previous years. On Saturday night we invite you to come together after FOSDEM to have a social evening with our community. The location will be announced at the booth the very same day. Pass by and find out. Looking forward meeting you!

The Free Software Foundation Europe will bring together the key Free Software groups of Europe a day before the FOSDEM event, in order to network and get an overview about activities of Free Software groups from all over Europe.
The Pre-FOSDEM Event will be held on 31 January 2020, 13:30 to 19:00 at MundoB, Edinburgh Street 26, in Brussels. It is for free but we would be happy if you could register.
